June 2020: We Are Family

Posted on

I want to THANK everyone for the support of my studio during the 3 month shut down in NYC. Together we raised over $7000 for Seeding Sovereignty to provide water, food & PPE specifically for the Elders of the Navajo, Apache, and Pueblo communities in New Mexico and almost another $7000 for City Meals on Wheels, bringing meals to NYC's elderly.

Now I am back in my studio, cleaning, organizing, thinking. My heart is heavy for the universal suffering caused by Covid and for the pain, injustice and loss of life in the face of racism.

The WE2020 code ended on June 15th at midnight, and for this month until July 15, 15% of all online sales will be donated to Black Womens Blueprint who work to place Black women & girls' lives squarely within the context of the larger racial justice concerns of Black communities and are committed to building movements where gender matters in broader social justice organizing so that all members  gain social, political and economic equity.

I am committed to learning, understanding, and changing the ways that the system and I have committed injustice and cruelty to my fellow black and brown human family. I agree wholeheartedly, that it's not enough to be Not-Racist, we must be Anti-Racist. I stand HERE.
